Today's AU: gender/sex-switch!*  What if the boy characters were girls, and the girls were boys?

*I know the proper term is cis, for example, the above is a picture of cisgirl!Kurt not genderswitched!Kurt, but a lot of people know it better as genderbender, so....That, and it cis-gendered!glee is not the same as switched genders, so...No offense meant!

My absolute favouirte cis-Klaine fic is Like a Girl Changes Clothes, which is also an awesome podfic.

First off, I adore the logic of cis-girl-Kurt being Liesl (such a cool Sound Of Music reference), and how the homophobic bullying is slightly shifted but still rings scarily true (from cis-girl versions of Karofsky and Azimio, on the girls hockey team with Liesl). I also love that Blaire is polished and sweet and pop-loving, and still a bit of a fail-boat. (That's apparently how I characterise Blaine: sweet, well-mannered, lovable, but still a fail-boat.)

Cisboy!Santana takes enlargement medication in between seasons 1 and 2. He fakes macho whatever when Stu Sylvester fumes at him about it.

If cisboy!Santittany make out for the enjoyment of the various girls they sleep with, then it doesn't have to mean anything, right?

Wilhelmina Schuester is inherently a different person and doesn't make such a mess of things during Madonna Week, for example. She also distributes her attention to people beyond cisgirl!Finn. That said, she still pushes some of Emmett Pillsbury's buttons that aren't meant to be pushed. Also, Emmett doesn't call her a slut in "Home", he takes her aside and has a conversation in private.

Cisboy!Tina objectifying cisgirl!Mike is rather more complicated.

Oh my god, the very plot of the show get messed up because the different personalities would have vastly different gender expectations. Does no one go through with losing their virginity in "Like a Virgin"? What happens to all the gendered violence in Michael? Cisgirl!Kurt and cisboy!Santana would be threatened with opposite types of violence at the same points in the narrative, which would change EVERYTHING.
