Kurt, Blaine, and children

When Kurt cheered Dave up by telling him about a happy future fantasy, he included a job, a city, a partner, and a child, as if he was just assuming Dave's future would involve children, even though Dave had never mentioned the idea.

When Blaine talked about his and Kurt's fantasies about the distant future, it involved Provincetown, a lighthouse, and an artisrs' colony, but no mention of children. The two of them have mentioned marriage a number of times, but never children, as far as I can recall.

I'm mainly intrigued by the differences between Kurt's predictions for Dave and for himself. Is Dave too pedestrian to Kurt to have anything other than a white picket fence kind of life?
