AU Thursday: Video Games/Swordplay/Heroes of LEGEND

(this is a screencap from Darren Criss's 3DS copy of the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Tima.  As you might've noticed, he named the main character Blaine, which is sweet and adorable and makes me go slkdfjlaskjfdklsjf all over the place, and is the inspiration for both yesterday and today's post.)

So for today's AU of Choice, let's go with Video Games/Swordplay/Heroism.  I would just say ZELDA CROSSOVERS but I'm not sure how much of the Glee fandom knows about Zelda, so we'll make it a little broader. ;)  Post any drabbles/headcanons/fanarts/fic recs here!

As always, suggestions for future weeks are always welcomed!

It could be a King's Quest style adventure game where you go around doing puzzles, picking up every item that isn't nailed down, and talking to NPCs. Maybe you can switch between controlling a few different characters, like in Day of the Tentacle, so that they end up helping each other toward the same goal. For example, as Rachel, you go off on your own Quinn-fighting adventure which ends up giving you the inspiration to write an awesome song. (Did you remember to pick up the pen you saw in an earlier screen?) As Puck, you talk to many people trying to get new recruits, and have to find candy for bribes, and little cartoon hearts fly out of your head when Lauren kisses you and then insults you. Something like that!

Kurt could be a necromancer. He spends more time in graveyards and hospitals than anyone else on the show, so maybe he could use his familiarity with death to reanimate the bodies and make them fight for good just a little while longer.

Blaine could be a bard, who uses a sword and enhances his magic skills through the use of song.

Brittany could be a druid, who transforms into an animal form and summons nature friends like vines, ravens, and wolves (puppies!) to aid her.

Artie could be a demon hunter who fights from a distance using crossbows and badass explosives. Or maybe a sorcerer so he can use magic to float wherever he goes.

Santana could be an amazon. As soon as she was able, she left her home town and ran off to join a society without men, thinking she wouldn't be judged there for her love for Brittany. But she's kind of a bitch and they don't quite trust her yet. She uses bows, javalins, and spears and hires herself out as a mercenary, although she's loyal to no one (except Brittany).

Every time I thought of that picture yesterday, it made me smile like an idiot. I just really like when actors like their characters enough to invoke the idea of them outside of work. <3

BUT: ZELDA AU, OMG. Particularly, Ocarina of Time. bb!Blaine as Young Link, sort of wrapped into the whole Hero of Time thing in the half-accidental way Link was, with the constant "Hey, listen!" of a little yellow bird that follows him around. Kurt as Zelda, but mostly as Sheik, being constantly awesome. Karofsky or Sebastian as Ganondorf? Neither of them are actually evil. Probably Karofsky? Rachel as Saria! Pavarotti!Navi with Wes's voice! Or something! I'm trying to think of someone as Impa, but no one comes to mind immediately.

I'm just saying! It totally works! And now I very desperately want someone to write it, because I can't remember anything that happens after Link becomes Adult Link, and also I'm already working on a series.
