Meta Wednesday: Family
Inspired from an interview at ComicCon, today let's talk about Glee and family, and the relationships that makes.
As always, feel free to discuss anything else you might like--this is just a starting point!

Suggestions for Future Weeks
Re: Suggestions for Future Weeks
- Languages and language teaching in "The Spanish Teacher"
- Who sings in a foreign language (when, what and why)?
- Who do we hear speaking (as opposed to singing) a foreign language (and who don't we hear who might nevertheless be assumed to have knowledge of a language other than English)?
- Is it important that Mr Schue starts off as a Spanish teacher etc?
Hudmels
Re: Hudmels
"I'm madly in love with Finn. I have been since the first time we met. He was my knight in shining armor. My feelings lingered stronger as we bonded over glee. Then football. Then skin care. I don't know why I find his stupidity charming. I mean, he's cheating off a girl who thinks the square root of four is rainbows. I guess that's love for you."
"Family stuff is hard, especially between brothers. I mean, Finn and I aren't even real brothers, and we pretty much disagree on everything. But I love the big lug! And at the end of the day we're in each other's corners. You only get one brother, Blaine. Don't give up on that."
He uses the word love both times, but the sentiment is completely different. :D
Siblings
We don't know if Artie, Tina, Mike, Sugar, and Joe have siblings or not.
But we do know that Rachel's an only child, to the point where she even sang an original song about it.
Discuss?
Re: Siblings
Kurt, Finn, and Rachel were basically the first characters on Glee we got to know well, so maybe the same thing was happening, where the individuals were the focus and that's why no one bothered to give them siblings. But it's nice that so many other characters eventually got sibling mentions. It adds to the scope of the universe a bit, knowing there are other people out there beyond the walls of the school.
I feel like Cooper is Dawn. I mean, Blaine and Kurt had been together for a long time before he appeared out of nowhere, they'd even known each other for two Christmases, and Cooper was never even mentioned before. "I'll finally be abe to meet this mysterious brother of yours!" Clearly he's actually a mystical concentration of living energy transformed into an ordinary boy. LOL.
For Fun: dream cast for ND's family members
Darren Criss, Blaine: "I won't tell you who I want my mom to be because I don't want to jinx it," Criss told reporters at Comic-Con. "I'd love to see Matt Bomer back on the show. He was such a sweetheart." However, he said he would love to meet Blaine's dad. "I've always thought Blaine has daddy issues," Criss said. "I always joke that Peter Gallagher would be amazing because we have the same eyebrows and he's a singer."
Jenna Ushkowitz, Tina: "I want Sandra Oh to play my crazy aunt."
Kevin McHale, Artie: "Katey Sagal wants to play my mom. I'm totally for that. She can sing," McHale said. As for his dad? McHale picked Harry Connick Jr. "Kristin Chenoweth came on [the show] and she's like, 'I'm calling you little Harry Connick.' Everyone always tells me I look like Harry Connick and he can sing."
So that who the actors would choose to play their family members, but as fans, who would you choose?

Sugar Motta strikes me as an only child. Or at least, her daddy's favourite.
